The Pura Vida movement began in 2010 when our founders visited Costa Rica and experienced the laid-back lifestyle of those living in this tropical paradise. They also encountered artisans who made some of the most beautiful, well-crafted string bracelets they’d ever seen.
They partnered with these artisans and brought some of these handmade bracelets back with them for a few reasons. First and foremost, they wanted to support local artisans who made a living doing what they loved. But, they also wanted to share these artisan bracelets with everyone at home! They knew that their friends and family could benefit from a piece of jewelry that reminded them to slow down and celebrate life’s simple pleasures - living the “Pure Life”, as our name translates to.
